The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in talks for the central contracts of national cricketers.
Meetings with the international department and selectors are underway in Lahore to discuss changes in the financial model and compensation structure.
Currently, Category A players get around Rs 6.1 million per month. The proposed changes suggest reducing this to Rs 4.5. Adjustments in monthly allowance are also being considered for other categories.
Last year 30 players were given contracts for three years. The PCB is reviewing player performance after 12 months to update this list. As part of the review the PCB is looking at changing the central contract categories and the number of contracted players.
Under the current structure Category A players get Rs 6.1 million per month, Category B players Rs 4.1 million, Category C Rs 1.8 million and Category D Rs 1.1 million. There are 3 players in Category A, 6 in Category B, 4 in Category C and 17 in Category D.
These talks are to ensure a fair and sustainable financial model that rewards players based on their performance and contribution to the national team.
