The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, has laid the foundation stone for a project to construct 750 permanent houses for refugees from Indian-administered Kashmir who arrived in 1989-90. A refugee representative performed the stone-laying ceremony.
The project, estimated to cost 3,096.050 million rupees, is expected to be completed within two years. It aims to provide basic facilities to the refugees as a top priority.
Several government ministers and officials attended the ceremony, including Colonel (Retd) Waqar Ahmad Noor, Javed Iqbal Budhanvi, Raja Muhammad Siddique Khan, Chaudhry Muhammad Rashid, and Malik Zafar Iqbal.
During his address, Prime Minister Haq emphasized the importance of providing essential amenities to the refugees and expressed support for the people of Indian-administered Kashmir.
The project represents a significant step in addressing the housing needs of Kashmiri refugees in AJK.
