YouTube has released an enhanced eraser tool that makes it simple for content creators to delete any music that is protected by copyright from their videos.
The creators could remove copyrighted music without impacting any other audio, including dialogue or sound effects in the videos.
"Good news, creators: our updated Erase Song tool helps you easily remove copyright-claimed music from your video (while leaving the rest of your audio intact)" was Neal Mohan, the chief executive officer of YouTube, writing about the tool on X.
Google's giant video streaming platform, YouTube, explained that although it has been experimenting with the eraser tool for some time, it could have been more successful in erasing a copyrighted song.
In the meanwhile, YouTube's new tool uses an AI-powered algorithm to precisely identify and delete the copyrighted noises from a video without impacting any other audio in the film.
YouTube does, however, warn that occasionally the algorithm may not be able to eliminate the song at times.
“This edit might not work if the song is hard to remove. If this tool doesn’t successfully remove the claim on a video, you can try other editing options, such as muting all sound in the claimed segments or trimming out the claimed segments,” the company said.
Instead of eliminating certain audio from their videos, creators can choose to mute it in those sections in case copyright issues arise. This resolves the copyright claim flag raised by YouTube's auto-detection system for content protected by copyright.
