The cries of the people burdened by heavy electricity bills have reached Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, prompting immediate action.
In response to widespread public outcry, he has ordered strict measures against officers and officials who have been adding extra units to electricity bills.
During an emergency meeting, the prime minister instructed the Minister of Energy to identify and suspend the officials responsible for these unjust practices. He emphasized that those who have wronged the poor must face consequences without delay.
PM Sharif has also directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to conduct a thorough investigation to identify and take action against the perpetrators. Energy Minister Owais Leghari has assured that immediate steps will be taken to address the issue and rectify the situation.
