Heavy rainfall in Lahore on Monday morning has turned the city's weather pleasant and brought the mercury down, especially in areas such as Gulberg, Jail Road, Lawrence Road, Begum Road, Anarkali and their surroundings.
The city witnessed substantial rainfall, with the highest recorded at 105mm at Lakshmi Chowk and 102mm around Qurtaba Chowk. Other notable measurements include 61mm in Gulshan-e-Ravi, 72mm in Paniwala Talab area, and 73mm in Gulberg, according to WASA.
The downpour led to significant water accumulation in low-lying areas, notably Liberty Chowk, Qaddafi Stadium, and Hussain Chowk, as well as Garden Town, Wahdat Road, and MM Alam Road.

Gujrat: The city and its surroundings experienced heavy rain, resulting in a drop in temperature and more pleasant weather. However, the low-lying areas are at risk of flooding due to the continuous downpour.
Narowal: Heavy rain and strong winds hit Narowal and its suburbs, causing several GEPCO feeders to trip, disrupting electricity supply. Despite the power outages, the rain brought relief from the heat, making the weather pleasant.
Daska: Rain accompanied by thunder has led to a significant drop in temperature, resulting in pleasant weather. The onset of rain caused several electricity feeders to trip, leading to power cuts across the city.

Wazirabad: The city and its surrounding areas experienced heavy rain with strong winds, which lowered the temperature and brought relief from the heat. However, the rainfall caused many GEPCO feeders to trip, leading to widespread power outages.
Muridke: Heavy rain in Muridke caused electricity suspension in areas like Mohalla Iqbal Park. The rain reduced the heat, making the weather more enjoyable for residents.
Ferozwala: The city and its suburbs saw the start of heavy rain, accompanied by cold winds and a significant drop in temperature.

Murree: Pre-monsoon rains continue in the mountain area, transforming the weather with thundershowers and enhancing the scenic beauty of the area. Tourists are enjoying the rainy season and the breathtaking views. The Met Department confirmed that these rains are part of the pre-monsoon season.
The heavy rainfall across these regions has brought a much-needed respite from the summer heat, making the weather pleasant. However, it has also resulted in waterlogging and power outages in several areas. The local authorities are monitoring the situation and working to restore normalcy.
