Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz ordered the cleaning of rivers and canals across the province given the fear of possible floods and ordered the submission of daily reports.

She also asked for an evacuation plan in case of emergency and commented humans as well as animals should be removed (from the flood belt) in time.
Punjab Chief Executive Maryam Nawaz reached the head office of the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) where she was briefed regarding possible flood risk and measures.
“Early flood warning system is in use all over the world, why it is not implemented in Pakistan,” she said.
In case of rain, immediate drainage of water in every city, timely and authentic transmission of flood information, and removal of encroachments and obstructions from rivers and streams were directed.
Maryam Nawaz visited ADA Nullah Walton Road Remodeling and Upgradation Project reviewed the construction and ordered to opening of Walton Road's three-lane carriageway for traffic by September.
