Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Khadijah Shah has filed an application for bail in the Lahore High Court (LHC) in the May 9 arson cases via her lawyer Samira Khosa.
She pleaded that Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) rejected the bail application against the facts and she may granted post-arrest bail.
The court requested to annul the decision of the terrorism court.
Lahore police on Monday rearrested several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) women just hours after they were released from Kot Lakhpat Jail on the orders of the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC).
The women who were arrested again include Sanam Javed, Afshan Tariq, Ashmiya Shuja, and Shah Bano.
An ATC on September 23 ordered the release of Sanam Javed and other PTI activists in Jinnah House attack case that occurred on May 9.
The court approved their bail pleas against surety bonds worth Rs0.1 million each.
The jail authorities freed the political workers today upon receiving court order. However, they were arrested again as they were leaving the jail premises.
The army termed the events of May 9 a “dark chapter” and announced its intent to try the protesters under relevant laws, including two military laws — the Pakistan Army Act and Official Secrets Act.
The Jinnah House attack case stems from events that unfolded on May 9, which led to violent clashes across Pakistan. These disturbances were triggered by the arrest of former prime minister and PTI Chief Imran Khan from the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
