The Pakpattan police have released an impressive performance report covering the last five months, showcasing their relentless efforts in crime control and public safety. During this period, the police successfully recovered cash and valuables worth over Rs. 17.70 crore and arrested 119 members of 30 criminal gangs operating in the district.
The crackdown on criminal activities resulted in the apprehension of 1,340 proclaimed offenders. Among these were 122 high-profile A Category criminals and 1,218 B Category offenders, along with 877 court absconders. These arrests mark a significant step towards maintaining law and order in the region.
In a determined effort to combat the drug menace, the Pakpattan police registered 680 cases against drug pushers. The operations led to the seizure of substantial quantities of contraband, including 384 kilograms of charas, 32 kilograms of opium, one kilogram of heroin, 6,953 liters of alcohol, 1,559 liters of lahn, and 28 illicit stills. The total value of these recovered items is estimated to be over Rs. 4.30 crore.
The police also intensified their campaign against illegal firearms, registering 344 cases and recovering a significant arsenal from the offenders. The confiscated weapons include 24 rifles, 282 pistols, 32 guns, and 1,380 live rounds and bullets. This substantial haul of illegal arms will undoubtedly contribute to a decrease in violent crimes in the district.
The Pakpattan police made notable progress in solving complex criminal cases. They successfully traced six cases of blind murders and apprehended the perpetrators, bringing justice to the victims and their families.
