Maulana Mirza Jan, the Khatib of Jamia Masjid Wana and District Amir of Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI) South Waziristan, has been martyred in a tragic incident.
Just two days before Eid, Maulana Mirza Jan was shot and injured by unknown assailants while riding a motorcycle. Despite receiving medical treatment at CMH Peshawar, he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
This unfortunate incident comes shortly after another local leader of JUI, Deen Saeed, was also martyred by unknown persons in the Surrey Khawra area.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of JUI, expressed deep sorrow over Maulana Mirza Jan’s martyrdom, condemning the rising insecurity and targeted killings in the former tribal areas. He emphasized that such incidents have created a sense of insecurity among the people.
“Maulana Mirza Jan’s martyrdom is a stain on the government’s performance,” Maulana Fazlur Rehman stated, urging authorities to expose the perpetrators behind the attack and bring them to justice.
