Pakistan’s disappointing T20 World Cup exit has sparked calls for change within the national cricket team, and Provincial Industry and Commerce Minister Chaudhry Shafay Hussain has joined the chorus demanding changes in the national cricket team.
Speaking to the media in Gujarat, he emphasized the need for unity among Muslim nations, expressing concerns over the challenges faced by Muslims in India, Palestine, and Kashmir during Eid festivities.
Highlighting international opportunities, the minister mentioned that Japan and China are seeking skilled labor from Pakistan, and Toyota is undergoing audits for the past six years to tackle corruption.
Shafay praised the improving unity between PML-Q, PML-N, and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) in federal and provincial governments. He commended Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s performance in her first 100 days and urged the current government to complete its term.
Regarding talks with PTI, he noted the divided opinions within PTI groups, hindering negotiations with the government.
On cricket, the minister stressed that sports should be taken lightly despite wins or losses. He supported the need for changes in the national cricket team for improvement, emphasizing that it should not be politicised. “It’s time for change in the national cricket team, not politics,” he added.
