Well-known screenwriter and playwright Khalilur Rahman Qamar has demanded the Federal Censor Board lift the ban on the Lollywood movie, ‘Manju Maria’.
During a news conference at Lahore Press Club, Khalilur Rehman Qamar said that Pakistan's film industry was already taking its ‘last breath’ as cinemas have been closed and become plazas.
Khalilur Rahman said the Federal Censor Board's prohibition on the movie Manju Maria was confusing, even though Punjab and Sindh had granted the film censor certificates.
He demanded to issue a censor certificate to the film.
Film producer Sara Ali voiced her concerns and questioned how she would finance her next movie since the money she invested in the current one would not be returned.
On this occasion, filmmaker Munir Raj and the cast of the film demanded the government remove the ban on the film and allow it to be screened.
