The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has given the green light for the export of 150,000 metric tons of sugar.
The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb. The ECC noted that the export of sugar would be halted if domestic prices surge.
Additionally, the committee approved various financial allocations to address several pressing needs. Among these, Rs 127 million were sanctioned to cover outstanding customs duties.
Further financial approvals included 29 million rupees for expenses at the President's House, Rs 5.4 billion for the Ministry of Health, and Rs 4.92 billion for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The ECC also allocated significant funds to clear arrears and support various projects. A grant of 6.596 billion rupees was approved for Pasco arrears, and 370 million rupees for Housing Endorex arrears.
In support of financial inclusion and infrastructure projects, Rs 14.25 billion were earmarked for the Women Inclusive Finance Project, Rs 97 million for the Finance Division's Audit Management Information System, and Rs 5 billion for the Green Tourism Pakistan Project.
To address the shortfall for the current financial year, the ECC approved Rs 24 billion for the Ministry of Defense.
