A rocket launcher shell exploded inside a home in a remote village of Kacha area of Sindh’s Kandhkot on Wednesday, resulting in the loss of nine lives, including five children, and leaving six others injured.
According to reports, the shell of a rocket launcher had been stored in the house, which suddenly detonated.
The blast instantly claimed the lives of eight people.
Preliminary investigation revealed that family members took the unexploded shell home after finding it at a nearby open farm field.
It was also revealed that the children in the house had been using the rocket launcher shell as a toy, unaware of the grave danger it posed.
Local authorities were alerted, and rescue personnel swiftly arrived at the scene.
Tragically, the condition of three individuals remains critical.
For now, police have cordoned off the affected area and initiated a thorough investigation into the incident.
Such blasts often happen when people try to dismantle unexploded ammunition to sell as scrap metal.
