Punjab Local Government Department has set a deadline of June 6 to the commissioners and deputy commissioners for the establishment of cattle markets in all districts to set up cattle markets across Punjab.
It has been decided that the government will not collect fees from the traders on sacrificial animals. Section 144 will be enforced to take action against illegal markets.
According to the Local Government Department, eight temporary and one permanent markets will be established in the metropolis of Lahore.
Medical camps will be set up for lumpy skin vaccine and Congo virus spray.
Minister of Local Government Zeeshan Rafique said illegal markets would not be allowed.
“Holidays of officers and staff have been stopped to ensure cleanliness,” the local government department official said.
According to the Local Government Department, instructions have been given to all the DCs for the quotas, water, electricity, parking, and other facilities for the traders.
