Karachi continues to swelter under the grip of a persistent heat wave for the third consecutive day, with temperatures expected to soar to 42 degrees Celsius today, according to the Met Department.
The city is experiencing partly cloudy conditions alongside high levels of heat and humidity.
The department reported that winds blowing from the west direction are adding to the discomfort, with speeds reaching up to 24 kilometres per hour. The humidity levels in the air are measured at 78%, contributing to the oppressive heat.

Sardar Sarfraz, a meteorologist, warned that the heat wave is likely to persist in Karachi tomorrow. However, he offered a glimmer of hope by predicting a decrease in the intensity of the heat wave starting from June 2. Sarfraz stated that the city is expected to remain partially cloudy since then, with temperatures ranging between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius.
The forecasted relief comes as a welcome respite for residents who have been enduring the scorching temperatures in recent days. It is advised for Karachiites to take necessary precautions to stay safe and hydrated amidst the ongoing heat wave.
