The Azad Jammu and Kashmir police has claimed that Kashmiri poet Ahmed Farhad was arrested at Kohala checkpost on Wednesday. He was subsequently transferred to the Dhirkot police station, where a case has been registered against him.
According to the police complaint, Farhad was apprehended for allegedly misbehaving with the police officials deputed at the checkpost and interfering in government affairs. Farhad, when questioned, stated that he was en route to Bagh from Islamabad at the time of his arrest.
The police assert that Farhad's actions constituted interference in official operations, leading to his detention and the subsequent filing of charges against him at Dhirkot police station.

This arrest comes amid a case being heard in the Islamabad High Court concerning Farhad's disappearance. The case of his disappearance had generated significant public interest and concern within literary circles.
Earlier in the day, the Islamabad High Court was informed about the recovery of the kidnapped Kashmiri poet. The attorney general for Pakistan (AGP) briefed the court that Farhad had been found and was currently in the custody of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Police.
During the hearing of the case in the IHC regarding his disappearance, the AGP presented a report from the Dhirkot police station in AJK, confirming Farhad's arrest.
