After just two episodes, Gentleman has collected millions of views and grown to become one of the most-watched dramas on television. The OST Tumhari Chup is globally popular, created and sung by Naveed Nashad and features Atif Aslam. The drama's compelling background music and cinematic brilliance have won over fans. In an interview with Next Level Backstage, the vocalist discussed the song's writing process.
In response to a specific question concerning his experience working with Humayun Saeed, the Pehli Dafa singer said, "I feel strange about it because we've never worked together; this is the first time we're coming together." which is amazing. The video interview included additional clips of the actor actively contributing to the song's creation and paying close attention to the recording process.
With Sana Shahnawaz and Samina Humayun Saeed, the two women behind Gentleman, Atif also said he had a "wonderful time" working with them. He disclosed that he was shown two distinct compositions; following considerable deliberation, they selected the one that ended up as the last OST. “It was a consensus amongst us that this choice was the one. The credit goes to them they were fair to the compositions and to the drama itself,” said the Jeene Laga Hoon singer.
Atif remembered how he first responded to the lyrics of Tumhari Chup. He said, “These lyrics are relatable for anyone who has experienced longing in any relationship and that is the vibe I felt too when I heard the lyrics,” he said. Reflecting on the song's development, he added, “I believe that in every composition you learn something new, so I’m out there to learn.”
"I recorded Tumhari Chup when it was raining outside, and whenever I record music while it rains, the songs have come out well," Atif said about the relationship between music and rain. He added that it just takes two or three hours to complete the recording procedure. Gentleman's initial popularity has been greatly attributed to the combination of Naveed's captivating composition of Tumhari Chup and Atif's expressive voice.
