Former South African cricketer AB de Villiers rallied behind Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) despite the team's exit from the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), de Villiers, who was the key part of the RCB, wrote: "It’s always painful to lose. But as a fan, I’m proud of the boys for making us believe, even when all hope seemed lost at the start of May".
He expressed optimism that the RCB will bounce back in the next season, saying, "I’m sure the RCB will come back stronger next year and bring home that elusive title".

Andy Flower lavishes praise on Virat Kohli
Separately, RCB coach Andy Flower praised Virat Kohli for his enduring "hunger" for the game despite 17-year Indian Premier League (IPL) title drought.
Flower said he was looking forward to watching the India cricket hero bat in the T20 World Cup starting next month in the West Indies and the United States.
"Working in the same dressing room with him has been a real pleasure," former Zimbabwe captain and England coach Flower told reporters.
