Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has suggested a strategic lineup shift for India in the upcoming T20 World Cup, emphasising the need for left-handed variety in the batting order.
Singh, a key member of India's triumphant 2007 T20 World Cup squad, proposed that Yashasvi Jaiswal should partner with skipper Rohit Sharma at the top of the order.
Singh highlighted the scorching form of Virat Kohli, who is currently excelling as an opener for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, underscoring his pivotal role in the lineup.
With Kohli slated for the number three spot, Singh recommended slotting in Suryakumar Yadav at number four, considering his stellar performance as the top-ranked T20 batter.
In the wicketkeeping department, Singh advocated for Rishabh Pant's inclusion, citing his left-handed prowess and potential match-winning abilities.
Despite Sanju Samson's impressive form in the IPL, Singh believed Pant's knack for turning games in India's favour made him the ideal choice for the role.
India kicks off their T20 World Cup campaign against Ireland on June 9 in New York, followed by a high-octane clash against arch-rivals Pakistan.
