Pakistan Rangers raided the Counter Terrorism Center (CTD) office in Karachi and recovered the abducted citizen.
According to DIG Asif Ejaz Shaikh, the CTD team took the citizen into custody on May 19 and asked the family for Rs5 million but settled on one lakh rupees.
DIG said the arrested citizen had reached Karachi from Iraq. Four officials including the Station House Officer (SHO) of CTD were suspended.
“The CTD team took the citizen into custody on May 19 but officials did not report the detained citizen to the authorities,” he said.
Asif Ejaz Sheikh said four officials have been arrested and a case is being registered.
The suspended officials include the Sub-Inspector, ASI, and Constable.
