Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori on Wednesday reacting to Imran Khan’s bail in Al-Qadir Trust Case criticised the judiciary, saying that decisions were being made in a matter of hours, without consideration for the constitution and law.
Addressing a press conference, Tessori expressed concern over the judiciary's recent decisions, stating that they would have far-reaching consequences for the country's economy and democracy.
He questioned the wisdom of making decisions that would later be regretted, citing the examples of former Chief Justices Iftikhar Chaudhry and Saqib Nisar.
The Governor emphasised the need for the judiciary to reconsider its decisions, saying that they should be made in accordance with the constitution and law, rather than being swayed by external influences.
He warned that the country's economic crisis could not be resolved if decisions continued to be made in this manner.
Tessori also lamented the fact that decisions favoring the powerful were being made quickly, while those affecting the common people were being delayed.
He urged the judiciary to prioritize the needs of the people and ensure that justice was served without bias.
