Saudi authorities have warned fraudulent individuals looting the public in Hajj matters, and Pakistan endorses the initiative as it is already taking action against such elements.
According to the General Directorate of Public Security in Saudi Arabia, a cautionary notice has been issued to citizens and residents, advising them to be aware of fraudulent advertisements on social media regarding Hajj.
These deceptive and misleading advertisements falsely offer services related to Hajj such as performing rituals on behalf of others, securing and distributing Adahi (sacrificial offerings), selling Hajj bracelets, and providing transportation, all promoted by unknown individuals and entities.
The directorate has warned that strict penalties would be enforced on anyone caught engaging in these fraudulent activities.
It also clarified that the Project for Utilization of Hady and Adahi (token of sacrificial animals) is the sole official entity authorized to sell and promote Adahi bonds. These can be purchased through the project's official website at www.adahi.org.
The Public Security of Saudi Arabia has urged everyone to adhere to official Hajj regulations and guidelines. It encourages the public to report any suspicious activities or violations by contacting (911) in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Region, or (999) in all other regions across the Kingdom.
Reacting to the Saudi initiative, Spokesperson Pakistan's Ministry of Religious Affairs Muhammad Umer Butt said it would help protect the public from cheaters. He said the Government of Pakistan is acting against all such elements involved in fraudulent activities.
The Spokesperson appealed the people to visit official website and social media platforms for verification of such initiatives.
Radio Pakistan Correspondent Bilal Khan Mehsud reports from Madina that Pakistani intending pilgrims have commended both the Pakistani and Saudi authorities for creating awareness among the public.
