Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar said on Tuesday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder should take responsibility for May 9 mayhem.
Addressing the press conference in Islamabad flanked by Amir Muqam, Tarar said: "The person who is behind bars, comes with a new narrative every day. Sometimes it has been said to pen the letter to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) or other times to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS)."
Tarar maintained: "There is no value in the letter of the person [PTI founder] who has contradictions in his statements. Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, and Noreen Khan were present at the Corps Commander House. Why is the first information report (FIR) not registered against the sisters of the PTI founder?"
Speaking about the matters of AJK, Tarar said: "The premier had settled the matter by inviting all the stakeholders of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The prime minister has saved the country from any untoward incident by taking timely notice."
– Tarar assails PTI –
Few days back, Tarar assailed the PTI over the events that transpired on May 9.
Expressing his thoughts, Tarar said: “The PTI leaders and extremists had themselves posted the videos on social media. You [PTI] cannot change reality by changing the statements every now and then.”
“Everything was recorded on the camera that happened on May 9. It is an old habit of May 9 rioters to continue speaking lies,” Tarar said.
He said: “A group that has been involved in attacks on the state cannot be considered a political party.”
