In response to the alarming surge in street crime incidents plaguing Karachi, the Sindh government is intensifying its efforts to establish peace and ensure the safety of citizens.
An important meeting, chaired by Sindh Interior Minister Zia Linjar, witnessed significant deliberations and decisions aimed at combating the escalating crime rates.
During the meeting, Minister Linjar emphasized the imperative of proactive measures, urging law enforcement officials to venture out of their offices and ensure visible action on the ground.
Stressing the importance of safeguarding life and property, he called upon area Station House Officers (SHOs) to actively engage with communities and enhance policing efforts.
Minister Linjar directed police officials to adopt a coordinated approach to tackling crime incidents, emphasizing the importance of joint follow-up on intelligence information.
In line with these directives, Additional Inspector General Imran Yakub Minhas proposed the establishment of a Dolphin Force, modeled after the successful initiative in Punjab, comprising 1800 motorcycles and 1100 vehicles equipped with 2000 pistols and 5000 complete kits for anti-riot purposes.
In a subsequent visit to the Karachi Police Office, the Sindh Home Minister underscored the need for proactive measures and reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens. The meeting concluded with a renewed determination to combat street crime through coordinated policing efforts and the proposed establishment of the Dolphin Force, signaling a comprehensive approach to tackle the growing security challenges facing Karachi.
