The power distribution companies (Discos) filed on Tuesday a request in the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) to collect another Rs51.88 billion from the consumers.
According to details, the Discos had sought the amount for third-quarter adjustments for the financial year 2023–24.
The requested sum comprised Rs31.34 billion for capacity payment and Rs5.57 billion for operation and maintenance costs.
Moreover, this increase will impact consumers in Karachi as well, if approved.
The Nepra is scheduled to review the request on May 17.
