The United States resolved on Tuesday to extend support to Pakistan for reducing methane gas.
Addressing an event in line with the USAID Climate Financing, US Ambassador Blome said: "We are making all-out efforts to reduce the emission of methane gas in dairy farming. In Pakistan, this project will be presented to the Green Climate Fund for financing."
"Efforts are underway to lower the temperature by 1 degree Celsius at the international level until 2030. The partnership with Pakistan is underway in line with the US-Pakistan Green Alliance," said Blome.
"The problems can only be addressed by providing the stakeholders with financial and technical resources," he added.
Federal Secretary Dr Fakhre Alam said: "It is the topmost priority of the government to uplift the livestock sector. The environmental challenges can be overcome by increasing production capabilities in the field of dairy farming."
– US envoy Donald Blome calls on PTI top brass –
Few days back, US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome called on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership in Islamabad on Monday.
The meeting, held in the Parliament, saw the participation of key PTI figures, including Leader of the Opposition Omar Ayub, Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar Khan, former Speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser, and Rauf Hassan.
This high-profile engagement comes on the heels of a series of political manoeuvres and deliberations within the Pakistani political landscape.
Notably, PTI leaders had recently engaged in discussions with officials from the British High Commission, indicating a flurry of diplomatic engagements amid the evolving political scenario.
The meeting assumes added significance in the backdrop of former Prime Minister Imran Khan's persistent accusations against the United States. Khan has openly attributed the downfall of his government to the US, citing the no-confidence motion spearheaded by the opposition as orchestrated by external influences.
However, despite Khan's claims, the US State Department had refuted any involvement in the political developments within Pakistan, dismissing allegations of interference in the country's domestic affairs.
