Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar voiced grave concerns over Israel's relentless military aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank.
In an address at the 15th OIC Summit Conference held in Gambia, Expressing solidarity with the besieged Palestinians, FM Dar called upon OIC Member States to unite in advocating for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and to provide uninterrupted humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of the affected populace.
Furthermore, Pakistan affirmed its unwavering support for Palestine's full membership in the United Nations, emphasising the need for the resumption of peace talks to realize a two-State solution, with East Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian State, based on the pre-1967 borders.
Turning to the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Senator Dar denounced India's illegal actions and reiterated Pakistan's call for the implementation of OIC's Action Plan on Jammu and Kashmir.
He urged the OIC to pressure India to cease human rights violations, release detained Hurriyat leaders, and revoke unilateral laws altering the region's demographic composition.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also highlighted the escalating trend of Islamophobia worldwide and urged the OIC to collaborate with global social media platforms to combat blasphemous and anti-Islamic content. He commended the appointment of a Special Envoy on Islamophobia by the OIC.
Amidst concerns over regional stability, he condemned India's politicization of anti-Pakistan rhetoric and Islamophobic narratives during its ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
Furthermore, he stressed Pakistan's continued resilience against externally sponsored terrorism and stressed the OIC's potential to foster global economic growth.
The foreign minister concluded by advocating for collective action within the OIC to address the existential threat of climate change, citing Pakistan's recent experiences with catastrophic floods in 2022.
Additionally, he reiterated Pakistan's support for revitalizing the UN system and reforming the UN Security Council to enhance its representativeness, democracy, and effectiveness in maintaining international peace and security.
