Under the Green Pakistan Initiative (GPI), farming has started on barren and uninhabited lands in most areas of Northern Balochistan.
Pak Army and FC Balochistan (North) created awareness for farming among local farmers. People were provided solar tube wells and agricultural machinery as well as fertilizers and seeds.
Cultivation has been continued on 4600 acres of land in these areas, in which 2500 acres in Kot Mandai/Talli, 600 acres in Dikki and 1500 acres in Qila Saifullah have been brought under cultivation.
This region grows wheat, cotton, olives, and a variety of seasonal vegetables. This year, the wheat crop alone brought in roughly $220 million for the local farmers.
Local tribal leaders and farmers thanked Pakistan Army and FC and said that the Pakistan Army provided facilities for farming.
These measures have increased the rate of development in these areas and people are getting prosperity by getting employment
Local farmers said that, since they were unable to cultivate on their lands, they are grateful to FC and the Pakistan Army who provided Fertilizer and solar tube wells to them.
Earlier people had migrated from here but now they have started coming back to their native areas. We salute Pakistan army and FC Balochistan for this.
