The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a warning predicting heavy rains and hailstorms in various districts of Punjab today.
According to the spokesperson of PDMA, stormy weather is expected to prevail across multiple regions of the province, accompanied by thunderous showers and hailstorms.
The spokesperson highlighted that the affected districts include Murree, Guliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, and Gujarat, among others. Furthermore, cities like Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Pakpattan, and Sahiwal are also likely to experience rainfall.
"The majority of districts will witness rainfall accompanied by hailstorms," stated the PDMA spokesperson, urging residents to take necessary precautions to avoid any potential damage or inconvenience.
It has been emphasszed that the inclement weather conditions are expected to persist until tomorrow, following which the weather is anticipated to clear up, with dry conditions prevailing. In light of these forecasts, the administration has been placed on round-the-clock alert, in accordance with directives from the Chief Minister of Punjab and the Director-General of PDMA.
Residents are advised to stay indoors, avoid unnecessary travel, and secure their belongings to minimize any adverse effects of the anticipated weather conditions.
The PDMA reassures that they are closely monitoring the situation and coordinating efforts to mitigate any potential risks or hazards arising from the inclement weather.
