The Meteorological Department has issued a weather advisory indicating the likelihood of rain and hail at various locations in Upper and Central Punjab, as well as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Additionally, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in some areas of Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The National Highways Authority (NHA) has also sounded an alarm, warning of the potential for landslides along the Karakoram Highway due to the heavy rains. Operations to clear debris and mitigate the risk of landslides are underway, but inclement weather conditions are posing challenges to these efforts.
According to the Met Department, heavy rainfall is expected in Upper and Central Punjab, as well as KP, today, with hail at a few locations, heightening concerns for safety and travel disruptions in affected areas. It has also forecast heavy rainfall in parts of Upper KP.

It is expected to be partly cloudy in Islamabad and surrounding areas, along with rain and heavy rain and hailstorm at some places.
Furthermore, a spokesman for the National Highway Authority has said that in view of the heavy rains, there are risks of landslides at several places on the Karakoram Highway. A clearing operation is underway wherever possible, he said, adding that due to adverse weather conditions, they have encountered difficulties in removing the debris.
The NHA further cautioned the public against travelling on Karakoram Highway. The NHA, FWO and local administrations are working hard to clear the roads, the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, the Met Department has predicted that the temperature in Lahore is likely to go up to 40 degrees Celsius next week. It says the weather in Lahore will remain cloudy for two days, but after two days, the intensity of heat will increase.
The maximum temperature in the city will be recorded at 32 degrees Celsius, while currently it is 22 degrees. It is likely to go up to a maximum of 32 degrees Celsius, the department said.
