Famous television and radio host actor and writer Tariq Aziz is being remembered today on his birth anniversary.
He was born in Jalandhar on April 28, 1936, and moved to Sahiwal, Pakistan, after the partition. At the beginning of his career, Tariq Aziz worked for Radio Pakistan. Later, he became Pakistan's first television host.
He rose to fame with his well-known show Neelam Ghar, which debuted in 1974 and ran for forty years until being renamed Tariq Aziz Show.
He appeared in several films, including Salgirah, Qasam Us Waqt Ki, Katari, Haar Gaya Insan, Insaniyat, and Chiragh Kahan Roshni Kahan.
In 1994, the Government of Pakistan awarded him the Pride of Performance Award in recognition of his contributions to the entertainment sector.
On June 17, 2020, Tariq Aziz, at 84 years old, passed suddenly in Lahore from a heart attack.
