A Pakistani researcher, Dr. Ali Imran, and his Chinese colleagues at Zhejiang University have developed a gateless image sensor that overcomes the limitations of traditional CCD devices and offers superior performance.
Zhejiang University's gateless image sensor technology - pioneered by Prof. Xu Mingsheng and Dr. Ali Imran - is new and different, and it could be used in many ways from consumer electronics to industrial and medical imaging systems.
This new technology has the potential to revolutionize the imaging industry.
It could be used to make better cameras for smartphones and other devices. It could also be used to develop new types of medical imaging devices that can diagnose diseases more accurately.
First, it has a higher signal-to-noise ratio which means that it can take clearer pictures in low light.
It has a wider dynamic range which means that it can capture a wider range of brightness levels in a single image.
Additionally, it is more sensitive to light across the entire UV, visible, and IR spectrum, which means that it can be used for a wider range of applications.
In an interview with the Hanzhou Global Technology and Innovation Center, Dr. Ali Imran mentioned that they have a plan to design the complete product based on this research to let the consumer enjoy the highly efficient features of this new technology development.
Dr. Ali Imran is a senior researcher in Optoelectronics devices which include, Photosensors, Photodetectors, Phototransistors, and Solar Cells and is also working on the fabrication of synaptic vision sensors through the complex integration of 2D/3D materials, high-k dielectrics, and Ferroelectrics.
He likes to cooperate in scientific and research activities to share his experience and exchange innovative ideas and feels happy to support and supervise active researchers, especially from Pakistan working in his research field.
In an interview with the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), Dr. Ali Imran said that he is very happy to work with Chinese Scientists to discover and develop new technologies to facilitate humanity for future technology demands.
He feels thankful to the Chinese community for giving him a chance to make his future career and absorb him in their society.
Dr. Ali Imran is also in communication with Chinese high-tech electronic companies to help Pakistan build up the Pakistani-owned semiconductor industry.
He hopes that his expertise will also help his nation to find a good solution for energy crises through cost-effective solar cell fabrication in local industries.
The Chinese as being long-term traditional friends are always ready to support to solve energy-related issues.
Dr. Ali Imran also hopes that the Pakistani government will organize their talent to make a strong, powerful pool of young scientists and to focus them toward the solution to current challenges faced by their homeland.
He showed his determination that he will continue his efforts to make China-Pakistan friendship longer and stronger in all fields of life, especially in science and technology.
