As the water reservoirs have been increased due to recent rains, the Indus River System Authority (Irsa) allowed the provinces to use more water than the quota for 10 days.
According to Irsa, there has been excess water storage in the country's rivers for the past ten days and now provinces can use more water than the allotted quota.
Irsa Advisory Board had earlier directed to divert water according to the 30 percent shortage.
Now the irrigation departments of all provinces have been allowed to use additional water for 10 days.
A formal letter was also written and after 10 days the quota system will be implemented, according to available water and weather conditions.
