Frontier Corps North, in collaboration with Customs officials, successfully intercepted a covert attempt to smuggle arms from Afghanistan into Pakistan at the Torkham border.
During a thorough search of two cargo vehicles, authorities uncovered a cache of illegal weapons.
Among the seized items were three M16 rifles, two Beretta pistols, 4000 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, along with 8 bolts and 40 springs for AK-47 rifles.
Additionally, five pistol magazines, 8000 rounds of 9mm pistol ammunition, and a pistol without a barrel were also confiscated.
In a fast response, the driver of the vehicle and the recovered arms were handed over to Customs for further legal proceedings.
