The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a weather advisory, forecasting the likelihood of rain across different cities of the province from today until April 21.
In addition to rain, there is also a possibility of hailstorms at some places, as stated by a PDMA spokesman.
PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia has instructed deputy commissioners throughout the province to remain vigilant in light of the weather forecast. He emphasized the importance of departments concerned being alert to effectively deal with any emergency situations that may arise due to the adverse weather conditions.
In response to the alert, various rescue agencies, including Rescue 1122, have been directed to keep their machinery and personnel on high alert to swiftly respond to any emergencies.
Irfan Ali Kathia has also urged citizens to exercise caution during the inclement weather, advising them to stay away from electric poles and hanging wires to avoid accidents.
Furthermore, citizens are advised to seek shelter in safe places to minimize the risk of being struck by lightning. These precautionary measures are essential for ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals during periods of unpredictable weather conditions.
As the possibility of rain and hailstorms looms over Punjab, the PDMA's proactive approach and coordinated efforts with relevant authorities underscore the commitment to safeguarding citizens and mitigating the impact of adverse weather events. By staying informed and prepared, communities can better cope with and respond to any challenges posed by the changing weather patterns.
