In a move that could potentially disrupt fuel availability in several key regions, the Oil Tankers Owners Association has announced a suspension of petrol and diesel supply, effective from Tuesday.
This decision comes as a response to what the association alleges is a decrease in the allotted oil quota by Antamiya.
The affected areas include Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, where consumers may face challenges in accessing petroleum products. Additionally, the association's statement highlighted a cessation of supply to all airports across the nation.
The association has asserted that the supply halt will persist until their demands are addressed. Notably, attempts to engage with Pakistan State Oil (PSO) officials and the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad have reportedly yielded no response.
At the core of their grievances lies the issue of filling demand under a metered system, which the association argues must be promptly fulfilled. They contend that the district administration and officials have breached terms laid out in the agreement reached on February 20.
