Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that Pakistan's desire for peace is not a sign of weakness, as it is capable of defending its territory.
The minister responded to his Indian counterpart Rajnath Singh's 'provocative' statement by saying that, in addition to taking up the issue internationally, Pakistan will itself respond too, and not leave any debt to India.
Asif went on to say that terrorism in Pakistan had connections with India. "They want to flare up tensions due to political reasons, and Indian ministers are giving statements to get political benefits," he asserted.

The defence minister claimed that India's terrorism had gained attention on a worldwide scale as it had also killed a Sikh leader in Canada. "If India commits any adventurism, it will be reciprocated," he remarked.
Asif declared, "We have always responded to India promptly, and what has happened to India in the past will happen again. In 2019, for example, we returned an Indian pilot as a charitable gesture, while it attempted to infiltrate on the Pulwama incident."
In a TV interview on Friday. Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had claimed that India would enter Pakistan to kill anyone who escaped over the border after trying to carry out terrorist activities in the country.
Rajnath Singh had said in the interview: "If they run away to Pakistan, we will enter Pakistan to kill them."
