The government is preparing to give another shock to the public with huge electricity bills by increasing power tariff once again.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has decided to increase the price of electricity by Rs 3.28 per unit as part of the quarterly adjustment.
The regulatory authority sent the decision to increase the quarterly adjustment to the federal government, the increase in electricity price will be applied after the approval of the federal government.
In case of increase on the request sent by Nepra, there will be an additional burden of Rs159 billion on the electricity consumers.
