The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Cricket Australia and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) were looking to revive the Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20).
According to details, Cricket Victoria CEO Nick Cummins said: "Efforts underway to find a window to hold the CLT20," says Cricket Victoria CEO Nick Cummins.
Cummins said: “It would be challenging to find the window for holding the CLT20 in the calendar year studded with plenty of cricket.
Cummins said: “Indian players do not feature in any other league with the exception of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The IPL does not have Pakistani cricketers. So that is why there is no competition in the world with the premium players.”
“No league would be better than the CLT20, in which the world’s best players will be in action.
The CLT20, which was first played in 2009 and was discontinued after its sixth edition in 2014, saw three teams each from India and two teams each from South Africa and Australia participate.
Moreover, one team each was included from Pakistan, New Zealand, and the West Indies.
From Pakistan, the Lahore Lions, spearheaded by former all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez, took part in the CLT20 in 2014 after the Faisalabad Wolves and Sialkot Stallions had featured in the previous editions.
The Lions had made good memories by beating the IPL giants, the Mumbai Indians.
The Chennai Super Kings had won the CLT20 in 2014.
