Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi asserted his stance on the dynamics of cricket administration stating that "If i had lobbied in the affairs of the national team, I would have been the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman."
Speaking at a ceremony, Afridi responded candidly to inquiries, highlighting the importance of impartiality in his opinions regarding team leadership. "As a human being, would it be ethical for me to advocate for Shaheen Afridi as captain? Let merit prevail," he stated.
Afridi reiterated his support for Mohammad Rizwan's captaincy in white-ball cricket, advocating for Babar Azam to lead the red-ball format.
"Whoever has something to say, I have no obligation to appease anyone," he concluded, underlining his independence in voicing his perspectives on cricket matters.
