Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Mustafa Kamal said on Sunday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should withdraw nomination papers if it wants to boycott the Senate elections.
Expressing his thoughts, Kamal said: "Their [PTI] candidates will remain in the race for the Senate elections until the withdrawal of the nomination papers."
Kamal maintained: "Boycotting the Senate elections in Sindh is merely limited to giving the statement."
– Senate elections: PPP to vote for Faisal Vawda –
Separately, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) decided to vote for former federal minister Faisal Vawda in the Senate elections.
According to details, the PPP had directed six Sindh Assembly lawmakers to vote for Vawda.
The PPP's support will pave for Vawda to emerge victorious in the general seat of the Senate.
Moreover, the PPP will be able to emerge victorious on five general seats out of the seven after voting for Vawda.
The polling for 12 Senate seats in the Sindh Assembly will be held on April 2.
Earlier, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) had also decided to vote for Vawda.
