Hackers have intensified their efforts to infiltrate the sensitive information networks of federal ministries and divisions, prompting a stern warning from the Cabinet Division.
According to the issued report, a wave of fake emails bearing dangerous payloads, dubbed as 'JS Code', is currently circulating within the bureaucratic circles, posing a severe threat to the security of vital governmental systems.
The Cabinet Division, in response to the escalating cyber threat, has dispatched an urgent letter to all federal ministries and divisions, cautioning them against the perils of falling victim to these malicious tactics.
Sources reveal that these nefarious emails contain deceptive attachments designed to compromise the integrity of the ministries' network systems. The warning issued by the Cabinet Division stresses the importance of scrutinising all incoming emails, particularly those soliciting sensitive information, and advocates for preemptive verification of the sender's email address and domain authenticity.
Furthermore, the advisory unequivocally advises against opening any attached documents from unknown or unverified email IDs, citing the potential risk of unleashing harmful payloads that could jeopardize the security infrastructure of the ministries and divisions.
