The Lahore Waste Management Company has announced a bonus of Rs5,000 for its employees ahead of the Good Friday and Easter celebrations, in a gesture of appreciation and goodwill.
The decision was confirmed by CEO Babar Sahib Din, who stated that the bonuses are specifically being granted to Christian workers in recognition of the significance of Good Friday and Easter.
A total of 9,199 sanitary workers and 73 supervisors, along with 250 drivers and six helpers, will receive the bonuses as a token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication.
Furthermore, CEO Babar Sahib Din emphasized that a zero waste operation across the city would be conducted before the Good Friday holiday. All the workers would extend their shifts by at least two hours to facilitate the comprehensive cleaning process.
Additionally, the CEO said 266 churches across the city would be cleaned before the Easter holidays. Manual sweeping and scraping operations are also set to be completed in 78 Christian colonies to enhance cleanliness and hygiene standards.
