The Punjab government Friday notified September 29 as an official public holiday across the province on account of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
To commemorate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the Punjab government has officially declared September 29, 12 Rabi Awwal, as a public holiday.
According to an official notification issued by the Punjab government, all government institutions in the province will remain closed on September 29 to observe the auspicious occasion.
This announcement comes in alignment with the earlier declaration of a public holiday for Eid Milad-ul-Nabi by the federal government.
The decision to designate September 29 as a public holiday is in accordance with the announcement made by the Central Sighting of the Crescent Committee, which confirmed the commencement of the blessed month of Rabi-ul-Awwal on Monday, September 18.
In addition to the public holiday on September 29, all federal government institutions will also remain closed on Saturday, September 30, and Sunday, October 1.
Similarly, private institutions and schools that traditionally have weekends on Saturday and Sunday will observe a holiday on these two days.
