In Pakistan, the first gas storage project was abandoned before it had even begun.
Pakistan planned to begin construction on expanding its gas storage capacity following Corona, but the project was ended before it could be finished.
Due to shortage of stock space, Pakistan was unable to purchase LNG at a reduced cost during the global corona outbreak. Those countries who had facilities of gas storage were successfully purchased large stock of gas which fullfilled their requirment for many years. Later, Pakistan began to see the need for more storage as well.
Unfortunately, Pakistan's primary gas storage project was canceled before it even got off its foundations.
The funding was revoked by the Asian Development Bank since the work was not started on time. As per the report, Pakistan did not begin construction even after the technical assistant's clearance, which was two years ago.
