A shipment of hazardous health items ready for sale in Ramazan was seized as food safety teams checked the unit in Sundar Industrial Estate in Lahore.
Adulterated juices from the warehouse along with chocolate, poor mayonnaise, used oil, expired eggs and carbonated drinks were seized and discarded.

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) director general said that 8,976 liters of juice while 48 liters of chocolate, 25 liters of carbonated drinks and 1,800 kilogrammes of low-fat mayonnaise, 1,250kg of egg yolk, 800 liters of oil, over 150kg of low-fat ghee.
PFA said that defective and expired items were found which was ready for sale in warehouse. "Most juices and carbonated drinks with fake labels were to be supplied in the market. Action was taken on preparing children's snacks in dirty oil,” DG Food Authority said.
“In the production unit, dirty walls with fungi and very poor cleaning arrangements were found,” Asim Javed said. Asim Javed said that checking has been made stricter in view of Ramazan.
