The 18th clash between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators, scheduled at Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, faced cancellation due to persistent rain and a waterlogged outfield on Saturday.
Rain had been pouring down in Rawalpindi since the morning, dimming the prospects for the second game as the outfield became increasingly soggy.
As anticipated, the inevitable happened, and the second match was abandoned without a single ball being bowled.
The ground was inundated with water, extending to areas near the boundary rope.
Even if the rain had subsided, it would have taken hours to prepare the field for play.
With the game officially abandoned, Islamabad United found themselves in fourth place on the points table with five points, while Quetta Gladiators secured the second spot with nine points.
Notably, the 17th match between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi had also been interrupted earlier due to rainfall.
