Rain continuous for the second day in different parts of the country. The metrological department forecast that the rain will continue for the next 24 hours.
In Lahore city, there was sporadic light and heavy rain. A number of locations, including Gulbarg, Ferozepur Road, Mall Road, Kahna, Kot Lakhpat, Walton, and Defence, saw rainfall. The rain in the city has made the atmosphere chilly.
The Meteorological Department predicts that the city will see scattered rainfall for the duration of the day.
Rain continuous allover Punjab, cities of Daska, Wazirabad, and Narowal had massive rainfall throughout the day.
Rain continues in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. More than 25 mm of rain has been recorded in Rawalpindi so far. 19 mm in Golra and 21 mm in Saidpur, 22 mm of rainfall was recorded in Shamsabad and Chaklala districts. In Nala Lai the water level at Katarian is 5 feet and in the Gawalmandi area it is nearly 4 feet.
WASA cancelled the holidays of staff members and put them on high alert. In low-lying areas, WASA teams are engaged in drainage with the help of heavy machinery. Rescue 1122 has requested the citizens to stay away from electricity poles.
Twenty Balochistan districts, including Quetta, are still experiencing rain. Floodwaters eliminated several roadways. Landslides resulted in the closing of the Zhob-Dera Ismail Highway, while floodwaters have forced the closure of the Quetta-Harnai Highway. Additionally, train service is also suspended between Pakistan and Iran.
According to the Meteorological Department, during the last 24 hours 54 mm of rain has been recorded in Kalat, 34 in Khuzdar, 30 in Sibi, 20 in Turbat and 16 mm in Quetta.
The meteorological department has released the rainfall figures in Karachi. The highest rainfall of 45.5 mm was recorded in Quaidabad, 40.5 mm in Defense Phase 2, 39.3 mm in Korangi, 31 mm in Kemari, 30.4 mm in Sarjani Town, 27 mm in Gulshan Hadid and 26 mm in Shara Faisal.
