Multan Sultans spinner Usama Mir praised his captain Muhammad Rizwan for leading from the front against Lahore Qalandars in the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Tuesday.
Speaking to media in Lahore following the brilliant show with the bowl, Mir said: “The credit goes to Mohammad Rizwan for the team’s victory. The kind of person Mohammad Rizwan is, he keeps everybody united. ”
“My captain had confidence in me, due to which I could manage to perform today,” he added.
Mir paid homage to his mother, saying, “My mother had come to watch today’s game. It is because of my mother’s prayers that today I bagged six.”
Recalling the sajda he made after taking six wickets, Mir said: “My mother loves those who make sajda. That is why I made sajda after bagging six-for”.
“I had played many T20s last year and delivered. But all of a sudden, my performance was not up to the mark in the ODIs, due to which I was upset,” he added.
He acknowledged fringe player Faisal Akram, saying, “Faisal Akram has performed brilliantly. He is one for the future of Pakistan cricket.”
Pointing out the efforts to improve his game, Mir said: “I tried to rectify my mistakes by watching the videos.”
