Aleema Khan, the sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, expressed strong views on the party's stance regarding the 2024 elections.
Speaking to media, she said that Khan the party maintains its position against any form of electoral manipulation, stating that “the message of the founder of PTI is that there is no example of fraud on February 9th.”
She further alleges that those who hold power through "stolen mandates" are concerned about the potential consequences of the situation.
Drawing parallels with India, Aleema Khan cited the example of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Chandigarh, where returning officers (ROs) allegedly rigged elections. She expressed hope that the Supreme Court of Pakistan would deliver justice akin to its Indian counterpart.
Aleema Khan underscored the importance of safeguarding the people's vote, suggesting that failure to protect electoral integrity could warrant a reevaluation of the entire political system. She lamented the arrest and persecution of PTI members, including women, over the past two years, emphasizing the need for fair and transparent outcomes.
These remarks reflect the ongoing political discourse in Pakistan, where concerns over electoral transparency and accountability remain at the forefront of public debate.
